EGRE MENGED IMPACT is a blend of Amharic and English, symbolizing our purpose. The Amharic phrase 'Egre Menged' translates to 'Along the Way', reflecting our community's use of bicycles and active mobility. 'Impact' represents the positive and lasting change we aim for. We are also known as EMi, which interestingly means Beautiful in Japanese. Registered officially in January 2023, we started our grassroots efforts in February 2021. With four project locations in Addis Ababa, we store, care for, and hire out bicycles, encouraging community involvement.
